How To Decide Between Botox And Dysport

There are two types of injectable neuromodulators that we offer here at Form Medical Spa: Botox and Dysport. Although both of these injectables are unique in their ways, they are neuromodulators which means that they can temporarily alter nerve impulses which in turn relaxes fine lines and wrinkles. Let’s take a closer look at some more things that each of these injectables has in common.

They Can Be Done Quickly

One of the best parts about these injectables is that on average, they can be done in our Ward MD Facial Plastic Surgery office in just 15-20 minutes. And although some patients experience some redness and bruising afterward, you should be fine to go right back to work afterward.

They Work In The Same Way

As mentioned above, Botox and Dysport all work in the same way. Essentially, when they are injected into the muscles in your forehead and around your eyes, they temporarily block the transmitters to your muscles which helps to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

They Show Up Fairly Quickly

Most patients start to see the results from these injectables in just three to four days, but it takes patients about two full weeks on average for them to see full results.

They Aren’t Painful

Even though injections can be uncomfortable, they shouldn’t be painful. If you have extremely sensitive skin or if you start to experience some pain during your injections, let our staff know, and we will give you something to make you feel more comfortable.

If your fine lines and wrinkles are getting you down, you may want to consider getting one of these injectables. During your consultation, our doctors will go over all of your options to help you decide which one is best for you.
